A Louisiana couple has been arrested after a disturbing child abuse incident that involved a 14-year-old boy being dragged through dog urine. Authorities say the abuse took place in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, leading to charges against both individuals.
Charges and Arrests
Gina Sagona, 44, has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile, while her husband, Mark Sagona, 45, faces a charge of principal to cruelty to a juvenile. The couple was arrested after authorities responded to a report from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) about a child abuse incident at their home.
Investigation and Evidence
On Monday, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives conducted an investigation and reviewed home video footage, which allegedly shows Gina Sagona forcing the 14-year-old boy face down into dog urine before dragging him through it. The video also showed the teenager being struck multiple times.
Mark Sagona was reportedly present during parts of the incident but did not intervene or stop the abuse.
Admissions and Charges
During interviews with investigators, Gina Sagona allegedly admitted to the abuse. Both Gina and Mark Sagona were arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
Relationship and Investigation
The relationship between the defendants and the victim has not been disclosed by authorities, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Bond and Legal Proceedings
