A disturbing incident at a New York subway station has raised fresh concerns about passenger safety, after a man was violently pushed onto the tracks during an attack.
Attack at Bronx Subway Station
The incident took place at the East 149th Street station in New York City on April 28 at around 8:36 p.m.
According to the New York City Police Department, a 39-year-old man was standing on the northbound platform of the 6 train when the attack happened.
What Happened During the Attack
Police reported that an unknown man suddenly approached the victim and carried out a shocking act of violence:
- He picked up the victim and threw him onto the subway tracks
- As the victim tried to climb back onto the platform, the attacker kicked him again
- This caused the victim to fall back onto the tracks
The sudden and aggressive nature of the attack has left many commuters worried about safety in public transport areas.
Victim’s Condition
Thankfully, the victim survived the incident. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by emergency services. Authorities confirmed that he was in stable condition.
Suspect Still on the Run
After the attack, the suspect quickly escaped:
- He boarded a northbound 6 train and fled the scene
- Police have not yet identified him
The suspect has been described as a man with a dark complexion, wearing:
- A black sweater
- Black sweatpants
- Black sneakers
