A man in Arizona has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his mother while she slept, authorities say. The incident occurred early Friday morning at a home on N. Evergreen Street in Chandler.
Details of the Attack
George Randall, 25, reportedly stabbed his mother in the side of her neck while she was sleeping on the couch. She lost consciousness from blood loss but has since undergone surgery and is now recovering. Police described the attack as unprovoked.
Charges and Court Appearance
Randall has been charged with attempted first-degree homicide and aggravated assault. During his initial court appearance, prosecutors stated he had been planning to kill his mother for weeks and intentionally chose the location to maximize harm.
The judge set a $1 million cash-only bond, citing concerns that Randall could harm others. He is expected to appear in court again later this month.
Investigation and Safety Concerns
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Prosecutors emphasized that Randall is considered very dangerous, and the attack appeared deliberate and premeditated.
