Authorities in New York are investigating after the body of a woman was found beneath a highway overpass in the Bronx.

Discovery of the Body

The body was located on May 20, 2026, under a Cross Bronx Expressway overpass. A passerby noticed feet sticking out of a blanket, prompting police to respond.

Nathaniel Driskell, who saw the body, told the New York Daily News, “It happened right where I live, right where I work, right where I make my money. She was lying right there.”

Investigation Details

Police sources indicated the body had been dragged from a nearby homeless encampment. Witnesses said the woman had been living with a group of people behind a closed restaurant, but no one was present when the body was discovered.

Victim Information

The woman has not yet been identified. Authorities estimate she was in her 20s or 30s. PIX 11 reported that her body did not show signs of trauma.
