Location and Closure
Savannah Highway at Main Road, heading into West Ashley, is closed to traffic. One lane is expected to reopen between 7 and 7:30 a.m., according to the Charleston Fire Department (CFD).
Cause of the Incident
A construction crew struck the gas line around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Dominion Energy SC secured the line around midnight and is continuing repairs.
Advice for Drivers
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route while crews work to fix the gas line.
