A shooting on King Street in Charleston left one man dead and two others injured in the early hours of May 17. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and chaos in the area.

The incident happened around 2:33 a.m. Two men exchanged words outside Gilroy’s Pizza Pub when one pulled out a firearm and opened fire. Erick George, 25, from West Ashley, was killed. Two women visiting from Maine were also shot but are expected to survive.
Police Response
Charleston Police officers arrived within minutes. Multiple units responded, and the scene was secured for emergency medical services. Streets around the area, including King and Calhoun, were temporarily closed. A K-9 team helped track the scene, and video footage from Gilroy’s was collected.

Arrest Made
Andre Ramon Nesbit, 35, was arrested and booked into jail on charges including murder, two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and weapons possession.
