A woman from Union County, South Carolina, has been charged with lottery fraud after attempting to pass off counterfeit scratch-off tickets at a local store.
Details of the Incident
On March 29, 2026, 40-year-old Christina Deann West attempted to redeem several South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets at a Valero store located on S. Pine Street in Pacolet. However, surveillance footage revealed that West had taken the tickets without paying for them.
Charges Against West
West, who was employed at the Valero store at the time, was charged with intent to defraud counterfeit game tickets. This charge stems from her attempt to pass off the unpaid tickets as legitimate lottery items.
Current Status
Christina Deann West is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
