A tragic case in Texas has ended with the discovery of a missing pregnant woman’s body, leaving her family devastated and raising serious concerns about the circumstances of her death.
Missing Pregnant Woman Found Dead
Ashanti Allen, a 23-year-old from Houston, was found dead on April 16 near a bayou in Chimney Rock Park. She had been missing since April 10 and was eight months pregnant at the time.
Her disappearance had worried her family, especially after she sent a troubling message shortly before losing contact.
Last Message Raised Alarm
According to her mother, the last message she received from Allen came early in the morning and read that she was leaving and would not return.
This unusual message immediately raised concern, as it did not match Allen’s normal behaviour. When her mother went to check on her, the apartment was empty, but most of her belongings—including items for her baby—were still there.
Search Efforts and Discovery
Search teams, including volunteers from Texas EquuSearch, helped look for Allen in the days following her disappearance. Her body was eventually found near a bayou, confirming the worst fears of her family.
Suspect Identified
Authorities have identified Kevin Faux, 24, as a suspect in the case. Investigators say he is believed to be the father of Allen’s unborn child.
He has been charged in connection with the death, and officials later confirmed that the charge has been upgraded to capital murder.
Family Left in Grief
Allen’s family described her as excited about her future, especially her upcoming motherhood. Her father shared that she was looking forward to welcoming her first child and building a better life.
Her sudden and tragic death has left the family in deep shock and grief.
Investigation Ongoing
The Houston Police Department continues to investigate the case. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
