Oconee County deputies are searching for a suspect linked to recent thefts from two county vehicles at a maintenance facility on Wells Highway.
What was stolen
On the morning of March 23, a deputy responded to the Oconee County Vehicle Maintenance facility and found that two full‑size pickup trucks had been broken into. Both trucks were county vehicles—one assigned to Oconee County Vehicle Maintenance and the other to Oconee County Roads and Bridges—and power tools and equipment were stolen from each. Deputies believe the break‑ins likely occurred in the early morning hours of March 22.
Description of the suspect
The sheriff’s office described the person of interest only as a man with a beard, wearing a baseball cap, an Ariat long‑sleeve shirt, white shoes, sweatpants, and glasses. A property‑crimes investigator has taken over the case, and deputies are asking the public for help in identifying and locating this individual.
