Seventh US servicemember died in Iran war after being wounded in an incident in Saudi Arabia.

A U.S. service member died from injuries sustained in an Iranian attack on American troops in Saudi Arabia on March 1, 2026, raising the total American military deaths in the ongoing Iran war—known as Operation Epic Fury—to seven.

Incident and Casualties

The service member, an Army soldier whose identity is withheld pending family notification, passed away Saturday night after being seriously wounded at the attack site. This follows a March 1 drone strike in Kuwait’s Shuaiba port that killed six soldiers from Iowa’s 103rd Sustainment Command, whose dignified transfer President Trump attended at Dover Air Force Base alongside families and officials like VP J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Separately, New York National Guard Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46—a NYC police officer since 2014—died March 6 in a non-combat “health-related incident” at Kuwait’s Camp Buehring; the Pentagon is investigating.

Trump’s Response

Trump told ABC the families urged him to “win this” for their loved ones, showing no pause in the war effort, and noted Saturday that more dignified transfers are likely as “it’s a part of war,” with major combat operations continuing.
