A driver faces charges after a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck struck a school bus on Sid Bickley Road at Cannon Road in Lexington County around 5:40 a.m. Friday.
Crash Sequence
The northbound bus, carrying two adults and no children, was hit by the truck pulling out from Cannon Road. The bus then veered off the road, damaging a home’s corner, a fence, and a shed.
Injuries and Charges
Both drivers were hospitalized with undisclosed injury severity; the bus passenger escaped unharmed. Master Trooper William Bennett with SC Highway Patrol charged the truck driver with failure to yield the right-of-way.
