Kershaw County Investigation: Several Arrests, Drugs, and Firearms Found

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, along with SLED and ICE, conducted a search warrant on January 14, 2026, at a residence on Fort Jackson Road in Elgin, resulting in multiple arrests tied to an ongoing probe into criminal sexual conduct, firearms, and narcotics offenses.

Charges and Suspects

Andres Oropeza Nicolas faces first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges. Jose Gadial Baltazar is charged with trafficking cocaine (over 28g but under 100g), possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and two counts of unlawful firearm transfer/sale to an unlawful alien. Adan Celso Evangelista faces charges for unlawfully transferring a firearm.

Items Seized

Authorities recovered a stolen Glenfield Model 75 .22LR rifle, two handguns, and approximately 47 grams of cocaine during the operation.
