Rain affects a number of local holiday celebrations

Forecasted rain on December 5-6, 2025, prompted rescheduling or cancellations for several Lowcountry holiday events.

Rescheduled Events

Hanahan Christmas tree lighting and vendor market moved to December 12, 5-8:30 p.m. at Hanahan Amphitheater; parade proceeds as planned.

North Charleston Christmas parade and festival shifted to December 13 afternoon; tree lighting and Cocoa with Santa remain on December 5.

Cancelled Events

Sullivan’s Island fireworks cancelled (not rescheduled); other events like Wando High Chorus indoors, Santa at Town Hall, and lightings continue.

Pawleys Island Presbyterian “Shine Bright Christmas Festival” cancelled.

Lincolnville Saturday parade cancelled; tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. with indoor festivities follows.

Rain or Shine Events

Moncks Corner tree lighting (December 5) and parade (December 6) proceed regardless of weather. Goose Creek tree lighting decision pending, likely doubtful; parade set for December 13.
