AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — Jacob Harrison Craven, 32, of Warrenville, has been charged with attempted murder following an officer-involved shooting on March 6, authorities reported.

Incident Details

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said Craven pressed a handgun to the torso of an Aiken County deputy during a burglary-in-progress call at a home on Connector Road in Graniteville.

The deputy first encountered Craven in the back of the home, but Craven attempted to flee. The officer caught up with him in a bedroom, where the confrontation escalated and Craven was shot.

Injuries and Arrest

No law enforcement officers were injured in the incident. Craven was taken into custody and booked into the Aiken County Detention Center.
