Charleston, South Carolina – The former fiance of U.S. Representative Nancy Mace has responded to the congresswoman’s allegations that he sexually abused two women.
Mace stated in a news release on Saturday that two women came to her office to report suspected abuse by Patrick Bryant. The charges, according to Mace’s office, included alleged child sexual exploitation material, multiple rape accusations, and hidden cameras used to photograph women without their knowledge or consent.
Bryant issued a statement Saturday afternoon:
It’s tough to stress how disgusting this behavior is coming from a sitting member of Congress. Nancy Mace uses profanity, threats, and made-up charges instead of evidence, hurling nasty insults at my lawyers while avoiding lawful service. No elected person should speak this way to anyone executing their duties, and no responsible representative should act in this manner when confronted with reasonable legal inquiry.
Bryant claims Mace used profanity in an email sent to his attorney about attempting to serve her with a lawsuit filed earlier this month. That lawsuit says Mace colluded with another woman to fake the claimed attack of a woman identified as “Jane Doe,” that Mace staged the incident to blackmail him, and that she attempted to hack his phone.
The release from Mace’s office did not identify the women or specify which law enforcement organizations, if any, were notified about the latest allegations.
Meanwhile, Mace asked prospective victims and witnesses to come forward and provide information.
“Patrick Bryant and his attorneys continue to harass his victims for doing what’s right,” he stated. “I will not be silent. “I’ll fight for you.”
