A tense situation unfolded in North Carolina after a man allegedly made threats related to a political figure, leading to a major law enforcement response and evacuation.
Incident at Apex Car Wash
The situation took place at Tidal Wave Auto Spa in Apex on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Apex Police Department, the area was evacuated shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Authorities said a man described as a “violent individual” was seen walking around the property and making threats.
Threats and Police Response
Police reported that the suspect made threats directed at Donald Trump. Officers also noticed political messages displayed on his SUV, which raised further concern.
Due to the seriousness of the situation:
- A bomb squad was called to the scene
- A robot was used to inspect the suspect’s vehicle
- The rear hatch of the SUV was opened during the search

Suspect Identified and Arrested
Authorities later identified the suspect as Daniel Rodney Swain, 41, from Charleston.
