Berkeley County, South Carolina — A driver perished in a three-vehicle collision in Berkeley County.
According to Master Trooper William Bennett of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Friday on US 17 Alternate near the intersection with Peartree Lane.
The driver of a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was driving north on 17 Alt when they sideswiped a northbound Ford F-150 and collided with a freight liner truck.
The driver of the Chevrolet died on the scene; the other two drivers were uninjured.
