Four people were detained after a multi-agency drug bust in Kershaw County

Four suspects were arrested Thursday following a multi-agency drug bust in Kershaw County, South Carolina. The operation was a collaborative effort involving the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), Camden Police Department, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Search Warrants and Drug Seizures

The bust involved simultaneous search warrants executed at three different locations in Camden:

  • 2311 Daniels Street
  • 607 Church Street
  • 1603 Fairfax Drive

During the operation, law enforcement agents seized a variety of illegal drugs and funds, including:

  • 83 grams of methamphetamine
  • 33 grams of fentanyl
  • $1,271 in cash

The coordinated effort is being hailed as a significant disruption to the local narcotics distribution network in Kershaw County and Camden.

Arrested Suspects

The following individuals were arrested in connection with the drug bust:

  • William Ernest Bethel (37), charged with trafficking methamphetamine, crack cocaine, cocaine, and fentanyl, manufacturing crack, and distribution near a school/park. Bethel is currently on federal parole.
  • William Bethel (60), charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and distribution near a school/park.
  • Shelley Salmond (39), charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, and distribution near a school/park.
  • Hope Dorsey (48), charged with possession of crack cocaine (second offense).
