The City of Columbia and Columbia Water have announced that road closures are in place on Two Notch Road, affecting the stretch between Parklane Road and Decker Boulevard to O’Neil Court. Crews are currently working to repair the 24-inch water main that broke in the area.
Boil Water Advisory
Due to the break, a boil water advisory has been issued for customers on Two Notch Road, from Roof Street to O’Neil Court. Additionally, surrounding areas, including Columbia Mall, may experience low water pressure.
The advisory will remain in effect until Columbia Water Laboratory issues a repeal notification. Once water service is restored, residents are advised to boil their water vigorously for at least one full minute before consuming it or using it for cooking. Any ice made from unboiled water should not be used.
Discolored Water
If customers experience discolored water after the advisory is lifted, officials recommend running taps for 2-3 minutes to clear the lines.
