Charleston, South Carolina. A corporation is being sued by a victim of a school bus accident in 2024 for the driver they supplied.
On the morning of November 11, 2024, a school bus collided with a GMC pickup truck on Morrison Drive, resulting in the hospitalization of four individuals.
According to police, three children and the pickup truck’s driver were hurt during the collision, although their injuries were not life-threatening. It was found that the bus driver’s speeding was a contributing factor in the collision.
The business that supplied the bus driver is being sued by one of those victims. In the case, Justin Burke, the driver, and First Student, the organization that hires bus drivers, are identified only by their initials, J.H.R.
According to the lawsuit, the victim was hurt when the motorist abruptly and unexpectedly launched into oncoming traffic while driving too fast for the conditions.
According to the lawsuit, the bus driver was careless and dangerous because he was speeding, not paying attention, and not managing the bus. First Student was also charged in the case with failing to install the necessary brakes and signaling on the bus to prevent a collision.
Real damages, including medical bills and punitive damages, or a punishment payment in an amount to be decided by the jury or a court, are sought to be paid by the driver and the firm in the litigation.
The lawsuit on pending litigation has not yet received a response from the first student.
