SAVANNAH, Ga. — The unsettled weather in Savannah continued Saturday, with periods of rain and storms affecting areas across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. Heavy rainfall on already saturated ground led to trouble spots in Beaufort County, the Richmond Hill area, Chatham County Islands, and other nearby regions.
Overnight and Sunday Forecast
Isolated passing showers are expected overnight, but dry conditions should dominate by daybreak. Sunday will bring a mix of scattered storms if enough sunshine breaks through. While the flood risk is not overly high, heavy rain could lead to localized flooding in some areas.
Relief on the Horizon
Looking ahead, the start of the new week will bring welcomed relief, with Monday featuring only isolated storm chances. A cold front is expected to sweep through the region on Monday into Tuesday, bringing cooler temperatures.
Rain chances will drop to just 20% each day from Tuesday through next weekend. Mornings will be pleasant, with temperatures in the 60s, and afternoon highs will be 5° below average.
