Four people, including two children, were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in California on Wednesday, May 27.
Victims Identified
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victims as 31-year-old Khajag Basmajian, 2-year-old Alec Basmajian, and six-day-old Ella Basmajian. A woman in her 30s, not yet publicly identified, is believed to have shot the man and children before taking her own life.
Investigation Details
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of gunshots inside a Londelius Avenue home. Evidence at the scene suggests the deaths were intentional. Autopsies have been scheduled, but causes and manners of death have not yet been confirmed.
Community Reaction
Neighbors expressed shock and sadness over the tragedy. Paula Smith said, “It’s really heartbreaking… so go home and love the people you love. If someone is hurting, please reach out.” Karen Banuelos described the situation as “so depressing, so devastating for everyone.”
Official Response
The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation into the incident. Authorities have not released further details as the case remains under review.
