Greenwood man pleads guilty to cocaine trafficking following a 2024 investigation

Demario D. Crawford of Greenwood, S.C., pleaded guilty to trafficking fentanyl, the Eighth Circuit Solicitor’s Office reported on Friday.

Investigation and Arrest

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Greenwood Police Department conducted a joint investigation that led to a search warrant on June 28, 2024, at Montgomery Avenue.

Evidence Found

Officers discovered 931 fentanyl pills and a pistol in Crawford’s truck.

Sentencing

Crawford was sentenced to 18 years in prison, with a requirement to serve at least 85 percent of his term.
