A Utah-based company, TL+CO Business Solutions, is making a significant investment in Beaufort County with a new high-tech facility in Seabrook. With the help of $300,000 in local and state grants, the company is investing over $7 million to set up operations that will serve the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries. The new facility will create 35 jobs and feature advanced robotic technology to support the retrieval and assembly of parts used in these sectors.
TL+CO’s New Facility in Seabrook
The 15,000-square-foot facility, located at 1236 Trask Parkway, will be the company’s first in South Carolina. It will serve as a supply chain hub for aerospace, defense, and auto industries. The facility will stock various parts needed for these sectors, such as specialized components for rockets or military equipment. For example, if a client needs a carburetor for a rocket, TL+CO will have the necessary parts in its inventory and can assemble and ship the part as required.
John O’Toole, head of the Beaufort County Economic Development Corp., explained how the operation is designed to be very high-tech. “Robots will retrieve the parts and deliver them to sorting stations, reducing the need for forklifts and manual labor. The parts are brought directly to the sorting stations as needed,” O’Toole said.
Strategic Location and Job Creation
The Seabrook location was chosen, in part, because of the 800 service members who transition out of the military each year from nearby Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. TL+CO President and CEO, Linda Martinez, emphasized how this pool of skilled workers will benefit the company’s operations.
TL+CO plans to hire 35 employees, and the salaries for these positions will be well above the median income for Beaufort County. Those interested in joining TL+CO can reach out to Tim DiDonato at [email protected].
Support from Local and State Grants
The company’s investment in the facility will amount to $7.5 million, which includes the cost of upgrades to the existing building. The upgrades were made possible with the help of $300,000 in grants from the Beaufort County Economic Development Corp. and the South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development. The council supports businesses by providing grants and tax credits to encourage economic growth in the state.
Ongoing Economic Development in Beaufort County
The Beaufort County Economic Development Corp. is actively working to attract businesses in the aerospace and defense sectors, and this new TL+CO facility is seen as a key part of that effort. O’Toole expressed confidence in the region’s future, saying, “Beaufort County continues to attract like-minded businesses, and with this exciting development, we are confident that this is just the beginning of many more opportunities.”
TL+CO’s new facility in Seabrook is a major step forward for the aerospace and defense sectors in Beaufort County. With advanced technology, job creation, and strong community support, the company’s investment highlights the area’s growing appeal as a hub for high-tech industries.
