Five persons died in a car collision in South Carolina

Five people were killed and another person was injured in a head-on crash early Friday morning in Spartanburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Crash Happened on Highway 101

Troopers said the crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Highway 101 near the Bellview Road extension.

Investigators said a 2025 Ford SUV traveling north collided head-on with a 2016 Toyota SUV traveling south.

Multiple Fatalities Reported

Authorities said the driver and a passenger inside the Ford SUV died at the scene.

Troopers also confirmed that the driver and two passengers inside the Toyota SUV were killed in the crash.

Another passenger in the Toyota SUV suffered injuries.

Victim Identities Pending

Rusty Clevenger said officials are working to notify family members before releasing the identities of the victims.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
