A single-vehicle crash caused the closure of the entrance ramp from Washington Road to Interstate 20 eastbound in Augusta, Georgia, on Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

Vehicle Left Roadway

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the crash scene along I-20 eastbound after a vehicle reportedly left the roadway, crashed through a guardrail, and came to rest off the road.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to assist the driver and secure the area while investigators began examining the crash.

Driver Taken to Hospital

Authorities confirmed that the driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. However, no details about the driver’s condition have been released at this time.

Ramp Remains Closed

As of 8:51 a.m., the entrance ramp from Washington Road to I-20 eastbound remained shut down while deputies continued their investigation and cleanup efforts at the crash site.
