A positive community effort in Charleston has helped improve safety for dozens of families. Local firefighters and volunteers recently worked together to install smoke alarms in homes, aiming to reduce fire risks and protect residents.

Over the weekend:
- Teams visited 44 homes in the Ponderosa Community
- A total of 151 smoke alarms were installed
