South Carolina deputies say they discovered methamphetamine hidden inside an energy drink can during a traffic stop in Pickens County.
Meth Found During Traffic Stop
According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle on May 11 along Saluda Dam Road for traffic violations.
Officials said the driver continued past several safe stopping locations before eventually pulling over.
K9 Unit Assisted in Search
Deputies called in a second officer and a K9 unit to assist during the stop.
Authorities said the police dog alerted deputies to the possible presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
Drugs Hidden Inside Energy Drink Can
During a search, investigators said they found what was described as a trafficking amount of methamphetamine hidden inside a freshly opened energy drink can.
The sheriff’s office praised deputies and the K9 team for identifying the suspected drugs.
