Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a fatal shooting in west Charlotte that left one man dead. Officers were called to the 8100 block of Paw Club Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday, where Charlotte Fire personnel had already located the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Incident Details
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim and those involved knew each other, and the shooting resulted from an altercation. Police are not currently seeking any additional suspects. No further details have been released about a suspect in custody.
Police Statement
Major Michael Ford of CMPD emphasized the dangers of gun violence:
“An argument or altercation just can’t end in gunfire. There has to be a better way to resolve something…anytime something ends in gunfire, there’s no turning back. There just has to be a better way to end those things so we don’t have to stand out here and talk about someone tragically losing a life.”
