A Summerville woman was arrested in North Charleston after being found unconscious in a vehicle with her two young children.
The Incident
Officers responded Monday afternoon to the 9100 block of University Boulevard around 4:15 p.m. after reports of a woman passed out in a car with children inside. Brandee Busser was found unresponsive while EMS treated her.
Inside the car, temperatures had reached 89 degrees, and the children were without food or water. Witnesses reported seeing the children partially unclothed and wandering in the parking lot before police arrived.
Evidence and Charges
Officers discovered several empty alcohol bottles and cigarettes in the vehicle. Busser was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child. She was transported to a local hospital before being booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
