A 47-year-old Summerville man was arrested Monday morning following a high-speed pursuit that crossed into Dorchester County, South Carolina.
Multi-Agency Pursuit
The chase began around 12:30 a.m. when deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a vehicle coming from Orangeburg County. Deputies took over the pursuit at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 178 in Rosinville.
Officials said the vehicle reached speeds of about 80 mph. Roads were reportedly clear at the time, and deputies deployed stop sticks at Highway 78 and Highway 178, puncturing both passenger-side tires.
Driver Apprehended
Despite the damaged tires, the driver continued for several miles before stopping near Bigham Lane in Ridgeville. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and arrested the driver without further incident.
Charges
The suspect, Timothy Jackson Chadwick, 47, of Summerville, was charged with failure to stop for blue lights. He was taken to the Orangeburg County Detention Center, where he remains in custody.
