A tragic shooting at a park in Winston-Salem has left two teenagers dead and several others injured after a planned fight turned violent.
What Happened
According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to a call about a fight at Leinbach Park on the morning of April 20.
Police said:
- The gathering was a pre-planned fight involving juveniles
- The situation quickly escalated
- Multiple people began firing guns
Victims Identified
Authorities confirmed that two teens lost their lives:
- Erubey Romero Medina, 17
- Daniel Jimenez Millian, 16
Both were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Others Injured
Police reported that:
- A total of seven people were shot
- Five injured individuals were teenagers
- Their ages ranged from 14 to 19
- Injuries varied from minor to critical
Officials have not released all names as many involved are minors.
