A late-night drive in Sartell turned dangerous after a road rage incident escalated into gunfire. The shocking case has raised concerns about how quickly anger on the road can turn into serious violence.
What Happened During the Road Rage Incident
According to the Sartell Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting early Sunday morning.
The victim told police that another driver, later identified as Jakob Mohr, was:
- Following him closely
- Driving aggressively
- Refusing to back off even when he tried to get away
The victim attempted to exit the highway to avoid the situation, but the suspect continued पीछा (following), making the situation more dangerous.
Gunfire on the Road
Police say the situation escalated when Mohr pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle.
At that point:
- He allegedly fired multiple shots
- One bullet hit the victim’s leg
- The victim first realised something was wrong when his windshield shattered
Despite the attack, the victim managed to survive and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. Authorities have said he is expected to recover.
Possible Motive Behind the Attack
Investigators believe the shooting may not have been random.
Police suggested that the victim may have been targeted due to tensions involving a mutual friend. However, no detailed information about this connection has been shared yet.
Suspect Turns Himself In
After the incident:
- Police located Mohr’s car at a nearby bar
- He later turned himself in to authorities the same day
He is now being held at the Stearns County Jail.
