Drivers in Charleston should prepare for overnight traffic impacts as construction continues on the Ashley River Crossing bridge project.
Nighttime Lane Closures Planned
The City of Charleston, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and MasTec Civil, will implement nighttime lane closures on U.S. Highway 17 northbound.
The closure will begin near the intersection of Albemarle Road and continue approximately half a mile north, ending near the exit ramp to Lockwood Boulevard.
Closure Schedule
The lane closure is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Monday, June 1, and remain in place until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
The work is part of ongoing construction activities for the Ashley River Crossing bridge project.
Drivers Advised to Use Caution
Officials are urging motorists to slow down and use extra caution while traveling through the construction zone.
Drivers should expect possible delays and consider allowing additional travel time during the overnight work period.
