After nearly two decades in business, Cuoco Pazzo Trattoria is moving to a new location in Mount Pleasant.

New Location and Lease

The Italian restaurant, locally owned by Davide Davino and his wife, will relocate to 1181 Oakland Market Road near the Walmart in the north end of town. The new space comes with a larger kitchen, a covered patio, and rent of just over $12,600 per month.

Reason for the Move

Cuoco Pazzo had been operating for over 17 years at Fairmont Shopping Center near Johnnie Dodds and Anna Knapp boulevards. After the property and Anna Knapp Plaza were purchased by RCB Development for $15 million in May, the restaurant’s rent was set to triple from $4,800 to nearly $16,000 per month, forcing the move.

Other businesses, like Molly Maid and SpinJen Productions, have also relocated due to rising rents, while new tenants like Caviar & Bananas, Degree Wellness, and Arrow Quality Cuts and Shaves have moved in.

Exciting Updates

Davino said he’s excited about the new location because of its higher foot traffic and beautiful space. The restaurant will also offer lunch for the first time, featuring personal-pan pizzas, pasta, salads, and sandwiches.

Cuoco Pazzo will remain open at its Fairmont location until July 31, with plans to open at Oakland Market Road as early as August 1.
