North Charleston Camping World continues to face more lawsuits following the Live 5 investigation

New lawsuits continue to pile up against the North Charleston Camping World, as frustrated RV buyers report ongoing issues with defective vehicles.

Continued Legal Action

More than a year after a Live 5 investigation revealed multiple complaints against the dealership, attorney Josh Slavin says he now receives calls nearly every week from customers experiencing problems with their RVs. Slavin’s firm currently has up to eight active cases, and the number continues to grow.

Customer Complaints

Customers allege that the dealership sold RVs with pre-existing defects. One client with early-onset dementia lost valuable time with her spouse due to delays in repairs, Slavin said. In another case, a 2022 RV had doors that wouldn’t lock, gas leaks, and persistent water damage.

Scheduled maintenance appointments were repeatedly missed, and an independent RV inspector warned the owners not to use the camper due to mold concerns.

Root of the Problem

Slavin explained that the issues are twofold: defective units from manufacturers and delays in repairs by the dealership. Many RVs sit for months awaiting fixes, only to return with the same problems. He recommends hiring a professional inspector before purchasing any RV to avoid costly mistakes.

Holding Dealerships Accountable

“Honestly, it takes courageous customers willing to stand up and hire a lawyer,” Slavin said. He emphasized that laws exist to protect buyers, but enforcement depends on individuals taking legal action.

Camping World Response

Camping World was contacted for comment regarding the complaints and ongoing lawsuits but did not respond.
