Vehicle and Chase Details

Police spotted a Honda Pilot SUV, stolen from Rock Hill, twice Monday night around North Church Street and Saint John Street. Both traffic stop attempts failed, and a chase was called off for public safety.

Tuesday morning, the SUV was spotted again around 10 a.m. near South Church Street and Henry Street. When officers attempted another stop, the driver reversed into a police vehicle. The SUV later collided with another car at Crescent Avenue and John B. White Sr. Boulevard, then struck a utility pole.

Arrest and K-9 Involvement

The driver, Kentravious Javontae Rapley, was trapped in the SUV. After officers opened the door, he attempted to flee but was apprehended with the help of a K-9.

Injuries and Charges

The other driver involved sustained minor injuries. Rapley was treated for injuries from the crash and the K-9. He faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop, and possession of a stolen firearm, and is also wanted in Rock Hill.

Investigation

The Spartanburg Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
