The owner of a Jeep involved in the death of Greenwood Police Officer Don “DJ” Keller has been arrested.

Arrest and Charges

Shannon Hope Henderson, 21, was booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center and faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and allowing an unauthorized person to operate a vehicle. A bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Incident Details

On May 11, police attempted to stop a blue Jeep believed to have been involved in multiple shooting-related incidents. The driver, a 14-year-old, fled the scene, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with Officer Keller’s vehicle. Three teens in the Jeep were taken to the hospital, and one was later transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

Community Response

The relationship between Henderson and the teens is still under investigation. Greenwood County Sheriff Dennis Kelly emphasized the importance of bringing all involved to justice. The community has rallied around Officer Keller’s family in the wake of his death.
