Two Augusta men were sentenced to jail on federal gun crimes

Two men from Augusta, Georgia, have been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to federal firearms violations.

Defendants and Charges

Jafere Deshon Elliott, 23, and Korbynn Jevon Jackson, 23, pled guilty to:

  • Illegal Importation of Firearms or Ammunition
  • Illegal Possession of a Machinegun

Sentencing

Both men were sentenced to 48 months in prison and fined $2,000 each. They will also serve three years of supervised release following their prison terms.

Case Details

Investigators said the men were involved in importing 13 Machinegun Conversion Devices (MCDs) from China. Packages addressed to an Augusta apartment were intercepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, including one earlier shipment at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
