A shooting on King Street in Charleston early Sunday left one man dead and two women seriously injured, with 911 calls revealing the chaotic scene.
The Shooting
The incident occurred outside 353 King Street near Gilroy’s Pizza Pub. Eric George, 25, of West Ashley, died from gunshot wounds. Two female victims, Carigan and Julia, who were visiting Charleston from Portland, Maine, were also shot and are being treated at MUSC. Carigan remains in the ICU, while Julia is in stable condition.
911 Calls and Witness Accounts
Bystanders described hearing gunshots, seeing victims in alleyways, and a vehicle speeding away from the scene. One caller was heard instructing a victim to “stay awake” while officers tended to the injured. Neighbors described the scene as chaotic and unlike anything they had previously witnessed.
Suspect and Charges
Andre Ramon Nesbit, 35, of Charleston, has been charged with murder, two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Nesbit has prior arrests for drug possession and unlawful carrying of weapons.
