A North Charleston man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and preventing her from leaving the RV where they were staying.
Incident Details
Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. to Meeting Street Road and Hock Avenue after reports of a woman fleeing a man. The victim told police that the assault began inside the RV during an argument about cigarettes. She said her boyfriend repeatedly attacked her, threatened her with a bladed weapon, and prevented her from leaving.
The dispute moved outside the RV, where a train conductor reportedly intervened. The victim eventually ran to Hock Avenue and received help from a dump truck driver, who called 911.
Arrest and Charges
Police located the suspect at the Charleston Heights Motel, where he was known to stay. The victim had visible injuries.
Chadwick McCall, 35, was charged with first-degree domestic violence and kidnapping and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
