Authorities identified the suspect as 37-year-old Aaron Ray Thomas.

Police in Grantsville, Utah, arrested Thomas following the alleged assault at the couple’s home on May 7.

According to investigators, Thomas’ wife called 911 while screaming for help and reported that her husband was choking her and trying to break her neck.

Officers said the woman later told police Thomas twisted her head violently and threatened to kill her during the attack.

Police also said Thomas allegedly told her, “I hope you die,” and repeatedly asked, “Why won’t you die?”

Authorities said Thomas has a long history of alleged domestic violence incidents involving his wife.

Officials said the victim is recovering from the alleged attack.
