York Police have arrested a 34-year-old man after a fatal shooting occurred late Friday night at a gathering, leaving one person dead and another injured.

Incident Details

The shooting took place around 11:45 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of West Liberty Street and Wellington Square Drive. Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at a gathering. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 33-year-old male who had died from a gunshot wound at the scene.

In addition, a 34-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local medical facility for treatment, though his condition has not been disclosed.

Arrest and Charges

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested 34-year-old Kejuan Deangelo Dye, a resident of Clover, in connection with the shooting. Dye has been charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Victim Identification and Investigation

The identity of the deceased victim is pending release, as the coroner’s office must formally identify him and notify his family first.

York Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact the department.
