Jer Auntey Pleasant, 25, received four concurrent 50-year prison sentences on Friday for murdering two men he lured via Grindr, plus aggravated robbery and sexual assault of a 13-year-old.

Crime Timeline

In March 2022, Pleasant met 54-year-old Larry Wilson on the app, robbed and shot him dead during their meetup. In July 2022, DNA linked him to raping the child. His pattern continued in April 2023: on the 14th, posing as “Derek,” he shot Wilson at Banyan Tree Apartments in San Antonio; the next day, he killed 22-year-old Joseph West in his apartment using the same gun.

Evidence and Sentencing

Fingerprints on condom wrappers at both 2023 scenes, matching ballistics, and prior DNA tied Pleasant to the crimes, enabling quick arrests by Bexar County authorities. The DA’s office highlighted his predatory use of Grindr to target victims. Wilson’s brother warned of dating app dangers, believing it was a setup.
