Police said a man used a Toyota Camry to ram into an 88-year-old woman in a YMCA parking lot before driving over her.

Mark Alexander Adams, 68, faces first-degree premeditated murder charges for allegedly using his white Toyota Camry as a weapon to kill 88-year-old Shinko Oshino in a Bellevue, Washington, YMCA parking lot on February 28.

Attack Sequence

Surveillance showed Adams circling the lot multiple times around 6:45 a.m., lying in wait before accelerating into Oshino’s path about an hour later. The Camry carried her over 120 feet on the hood, braked to drop her, then drove over her without stopping; witnesses described the horrific scene.

Further Incidents

Adams fled south to Tacoma that day, striking two more pedestrians and fracturing one’s spine; cellphone data linked him to all sites. Arrested March 1 in Port Townsend, he faces felony hit-and-run plus potential additional charges, held on $5 million bail amid a prior protection order for stalking/threatening family.

Prosecutors deem Adams a community danger due to escalating violence. His King County arraignment was set for the following Monday.
