Arturo F. Taylor, a 54-year-old man from Fox Lake, Illinois, faces first-degree murder charges approved by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on February 27 for killing his 50-year-old girlfriend, Colleen Bagley. Police found Bagley’s body in a dumpster at a hotel on Landmeier Road in Elk Grove Village around 4:18 a.m. on February 25 after a report of an unresponsive person. The medical examiner identified her and ruled the death a homicide due to multiple sharp force injuries.

Authorities allege Taylor stabbed Bagley multiple times in their hotel room following a dispute. Security footage reportedly showed Taylor at around 2 a.m. walking toward the dumpsters with a garbage bag. Bagley’s brother, Jason Ehardt, confirmed Taylor was her boyfriend and expressed shock at the unexpected loss, saying, “I wish we had more time together. I’m gonna miss her.”

Elk Grove Village Police described the event as an isolated incident posing no ongoing threat to the community and offered condolences to Bagley’s family and friends. It remains unclear if Taylor has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
