Curtis Trent Jr., 36, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his 62-year-old mother, Kathleen Harrison Trent. Authorities with the Suffolk County Police Department reported that Trent allegedly stabbed his mother multiple times, leaving her body in a wooded area in Manorville, Long Island. The crime occurred sometime in late January 2025, and the victim’s body was discovered on February 11, 2025.

Kathleen Trent was last seen or heard from on January 27, and a missing person alert was issued on January 29 after her son, Robby Trent, reported her disappearance. Her remains were found by authorities on February 11 in a wooded area along Connecticut Avenue, about 25 miles west of The Hamptons. Four days later, her identity was confirmed, and authorities determined that her death was criminal in nature. Curtis Trent was arrested at his mother’s house in Riverhead on February 11, and the police have stated that the murder occurred between January 27 and January 29.
