Alexis Kearney, 31, and Antonio Alexander, 25, were arrested after allegedly carjacking a woman and her three children outside a Burger King in Memphis. The incident occurred on Monday night when Kristin Gillia, the victim, was in the drive-thru and realized she hadn’t received her full order. After pulling around to the front to resolve the issue, she went inside the restaurant, leaving her children in their recently purchased 2007 Ford Edge.

Details of the Carjacking and Attack

While Gillia was inside, her children ran in to tell her that someone was trying to steal the vehicle. Gillia rushed back outside and attempted to stop the carjacking. During the confrontation, one of the suspects allegedly pushed Gillia away and told the other to “put it in drive.” As the suspects drove off, they ran over Gillia’s foot and forcibly removed one of her children, pushing him to the ground. A witness found a gun at the scene, and the stolen Ford Edge was later discovered parked nearby.

Arrests and Charges

Alexis Kearney has been charged with carjacking, while Antonio Alexander faces felony charges for theft of property and a firearm, as well as misdemeanor charges for aggravated assault and assault. Gillia and one of her children were treated for injuries at a local hospital. Alexander had a court hearing on Friday, while Kearney is scheduled for a mental evaluation on March 12.
