A tragic shooting rampage in Clay County, Mississippi, on January 9, 2026, left six people dead, including a 7-year-old girl. The suspect, 24-year-old Daricka Moore, allegedly killed family members and others across three residences before his arrest. Authorities described the attacks as one of the most horrific in recent memory, with no clear motive identified.
Incident Timeline
Moore first shot and killed his father Glenn Moore (67), brother Quintin Moore (33), and uncle Willie Ed Guines (55) at a home on David Hill Road; all victims suffered head wounds. He then stole Quintin’s Ford F-150 truck and drove to a residence on Blake Road, where he broke in, attempted sexual battery, and fatally shot the young girl—his cousin—in front of witnesses. A final attack occurred at a home on Siloam-Griffith Road, where he killed Barry Bradley and Samuel Bradley, also shot in the head; the stolen truck was found there.
Arrest and Charges
Deputies arrested Moore without resistance at an intersection near Pine Grove Road and Joe Myers Road, after he switched to another stolen vehicle. He faces initial first-degree murder charges, expected to upgrade to capital murder with additional counts, and prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott called it a profound tragedy, especially noting the child’s death.
