Demarco Marquie Jones faces second-degree intentional murder charges after his girlfriend, Tatianna Marie Ehnes-Giles, was found fatally shot on Christmas Eve 2025 in their Castle Rock, Minnesota home—also her 26th birthday.

Incident Details

Dakota County deputies responded to the residence where Ehnes-Giles’ mother had called after grandchildren reported a loud noise and said “Daddy fell.” Jones was found upstairs with blood on his hands and head, initially claiming Ehnes-Giles shot him before admitting he shot her. She was discovered covered in blood, hands raised defensively.

Charges and Status

Jones, 29, shares two children with Ehnes-Giles and was arrested despite injuries requiring hospital treatment. Bail is set at $2 million; he awaits transfer to jail and a January 5 court appearance. No attorney representation is confirmed publicly.

Victim Background

Ehnes-Giles lived upstairs with Jones and their kids, while her mother and brothers resided downstairs. Described in her obituary as a joyful mother who loved bonfires, July 4th, and family teasing, a GoFundMe supports her children. The case shifted from an initial murder-suicide probe to murder charges.
